Boerne ISD Updates

Boerne ISD is Growing at Full Throttle!

Last week, Boerne ISD had their State of the School address and announced that since February 2018, the school district has grown from 9,115 students to 9,637 students, with 126 coming just in the month of January 2020.  No surprise, since Kendall County is the third fastest growing county in Texas. and Boerne is considered a "fast grown" district averaging 5% growth annually.

One of the ideas the School District will look at changing to relieve some of the overcrowding in the south side elementary schools is rezoning and starting a facilities study on need. With the passing of HB3, our district has regained some of the Robin Hood Act money and the goal is to put that money towards schools that need to be caught up with the newer schools on technology, furniture, band uniforms, athletic uniforms, instruments and other items that have came out of the parents pockets in the past.

The District recently earned an A report card from the state and was listed on the 2018 AP Honor Roll for academics.  They received an A+ from the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas as well.

Superintendent Price said the goal for each student is to engage, inspire and enrich, to focus on The Whole Child.  The school district is looking towards employers to find out what they feel is needed in the future graduates of BHS.  Together we can make a better Boerne.
